First ‘Squid Game’ Season 3 Trailer: The Final Games Begin

Netflix has dropped the first official teaser trailer for Squid Game Season 3, offering fans a chilling glimpse at the highly anticipated final chapter in the global phenomenon. The new season premieres on June 27, 2025 — marking the end of a saga that has captivated viewers worldwide.

Gi-hun Returns — Broken But Not Beaten

After the devastating finale of Season 2, Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) finds himself back inside the infamous dorms, emotionally gutted by betrayal and the loss of his closest friend. His failed rebellion has left him shattered, but the games never wait. Season 3 picks up as a clearly downtrodden Gi-hun is forced to play again, navigating a new set of contestants and ever-deadlier challenges — all while haunted by his past mistakes.

New Games, New Faces, and the Return of the Front Man

The teaser is – of course – keeping much under wraps, but we do get a look at a game that involves receiving coloured balls at random. Mother and son, Jang Geum-ja (Kang Ae-sim) and Yong-sik (Yang Dong-geun), look at each other worryingly after receiving different colours.

Among the new contestants are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, and more.

Meanwhile, the mysterious Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) returns to preside over the carnage, welcoming back the VIPs and tightening his grip on the operation. While his brother, Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun), continues to inch closer – unaware there’s a traitor in his group.

Was That a Baby Crying?

A surprising and potentially sinister moment in the trailer comes right at the end – we hear a baby’s cry. This could tie back to Season 2’s Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri), who was revealed to be pregnant. Is she there long enough to have her baby? Or is this someone else’s infant? Let’s hope this baby isn’t part of some horrifyingly cruel game.
