‘Sugar’ Trailer: Colin Farrell Investigates a Disappearance in Apple Mystery Series

Take a look above at the official trailer released for upcoming Apple TV+ series Sugar, led by Colin Farrell.

The series is set in Los Angeles and follows American private investigator John Sugar (Farrell), who finds himself in over his head when looking into the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel (Sydney Chandler, Don’t Worry Darling), the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel (James Cromwell, Succession). As Sugar tries to determine what happened to Olivia, he will also unearth Siegel family secrets; some very recent, others long-buried.

The cast of this slick-looking series includes Kirby (The Sandman), Amy Ryan (The Wire), Dennis Boutsikaris, Nate Corddry (Mindhunter), Alex Hernandez (Invasion), and Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad).

Sugar is created by Mark Protosevich, who also executive produces. Protosevich’s previous writing credits include films I Am Legend, The Cell, and 2013’s Oldboy. The series was directed by Fernando Meirelles (known for City of God, The Constant Gardner, and The Two Popes), who also executive produces, and Adam Arkin (The Offer), who also co-executive produces.

Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg executive produce for Genre Films, marking their second series with Apple TV+ under Kinberg’s overall deal following Invasion. The executive producer team includes Farrell, Sam Catlin, Scott Greenberg and Chip Vucelich.

Sugar will premiere on Apple TV+ on April 5th.
