Take a look at the official trailer that’s arrived for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the upcoming film that takes the iconic characters back to the big screen in animated form.

The plot finds the turtle brothers attempting to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers after years of being sheltered from the human world. The turtles, with the help of their new friend April O’Neil, take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

The turtles are voiced by Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), and Brady Noon (Raphael), and they’re backed by quite the voice ensemble: Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, John Cena as Rocksteady, Jackie Chan as Splinter, Ice Cube as Superfly, Seth Rogen (also a producer on the film) as Bebop, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom, and Post Malone as Ray Fillet.

The film is directed by Jeff Lowe (co-director of The Mitchells vs the Machines) and co-directed by Kyler Spears (who worked in the art department for The Mitchells vs the Machines). Behind the screenplay is Brendan O’Brien, whose credits include comedies such as Bad Neighbours, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, and The House.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will be in U.S. cinemas on August 4th and Australian cinemas on September 7th.
