Filming is officially underway on The Equalizer 3, the third film in the Denzel Washington-led action-thriller franchise loosely based on the 1980s TV series of the same name created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim.
The Columbia Pictures and Escape Artists project marks a reunion for Washington and Dakota Fanning, who starred together 18 years ago in the Tony Scott-directed thriller Man on Fire.
The film is being directed by Antoine Fuqua, who helmed the first two entries and also directed Washington in Training Day and The Magnificent Seven. Behind the screenplay is Richard Wenk, writer of the previous films.
Washington, Fanning, Fuqua and Italian star Gaia Scodellaro participated in a photo call (above and below) on the Amalfi Coast, Italy, where the film is currently being shot.
The Equalizer 3 is scheduled to open in Australian cinemas on August 31st and U.S. cinemas on September 1st, 2023.
