More on Screen Realm:
Currently sitting at 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film is directed by Pierre Tsigaridis (Two Witches) and co-written with Maxime Rançon. It follows a young boy whose night terrors bleed into reality when his mother begins showing signs of demonic possession. What unfolds is a chain of events that will haunt him for life — and ripple through generations, leaving a body count in its wake.
Speaking about the project when Saban Films picked up U.S. distribution back in April, co-presidents Jonathan Saba and Shanan Becker said: “Traumatika is not a movie you see – it’s a movie you experience. And there’s no better way to experience it than on the big screen. It’s hard to prepare yourself for the highly disturbing film that Pierre and Maxime have created. They are truly mad genius storytellers… consider yourself warned.”
Tsigaridis described his approach as “blending the terror of demonic possession with the visceral intensity of slasher films and the realism of found footage.” He added: “It’s a deeply sensory experience, aimed at fully immersing fans in our nightmarish world.”
Traumatika stars Rebekah Kennedy, Emily Goss, Ranen Navat, AJ Bowen, Sean O’Bryan, Susan Gayle Watts, and Sean Whalen, and opens in U.S. cinemas on September 12.
