Netflix has released the teaser trailer for Uncoupled, a Neil Patrick Harris-starring comedy series from Sex and the City and Emily in Paris creator Darren Star and Modern Family executive producer Jeffrey Richman.

The eight-part series finds Harris playing Michael, a New Yorker whose seemingly perfect life takes an unexpected turn when his husband of 17 years suddenly leaves him. Michael instantly finds himself confronting two nightmares – losing the person he believed was his soulmate and facing the fact that he is now a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City.

This marks a return to series and to Netflix for five-time Emmy winner Harris, who played Count Olaf in Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Harris’ recent screen credits include The Matrix Resurrections and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Uncoupled, also starring Tisha Campbell, Emerson Brooks, Marcia Gay Harden, Jay Santiago, and Brooks Ashmanskas, among others, will be streaming on Netflix from July 29th.
