Take a look at the teaser trailer that’s been released for Willow, the upcoming Disney+ series that serves as a sequel to the 1988 Ron Howard-directed dark fantasy film of the same name.

Warwick Davis is back in the lead, reprising his role as Willow Ufgood, the Nelwyn sorcerer who – in the original film – helped protect an infant girl destined to unite the realms and had a role in destroying an evil queen.

“Now, in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other mystical creatures flourish, the adventure continues,” reads a synopsis from Disney. “An unlikely group of heroes set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home, where they must face their inner demons and come together to save their world.”

Longtime fans and those with fond memories of the original film will no doubt be pumped to see what, at least from the teaser below, looks like a potentially fantastic follow-up. The tone is spot-on, and it’s a joy to see Davis back in the role, as well as the appearance of some familiar faces.

Joining Davis in the cast are Ruby Cruz (Mare of Easttown), Erin Kellyman (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: No Way Home), and Ellie Bamber (The Serpent), among others.

As for Val Kilmer, who played mercenary swordsman Madmartigan in the original film, it turns out that he will indeed be involved in the series. Although seeing as the actor has sadly been battling throat cancer and was not able to travel to Wales for the shoot, it’s not yet known in what capacity. Speaking with Yahoo Entertainment on a Star Wars celebration panel in Anaheim, California on Thursday, executive producer Jonathan Kasdan said that Kilmer will be “in the show in a big way.”

“Val’s a huge part of this, and the first conversation I had, when Warwick and I got the green light to do this, was with Val. We wanted his character to be a part of the story. We wanted him to be in the show.”

Kasdan wrote Willow‘s pilot episode and is also attached as co-showrunner alongside executive producer Wendy Mericle (Arrow). Ron Howard is on also board as executive producer, along with Kathleen Kennedy and Roopesh Parekh.

Willow will premiere on Disney+ on November 30th.
