Paramount Pictures has dropped the second official trailer for upcoming sci-fi horror film A Quiet Place: Day One, set before the first film in the franchise – taking us to the day those blind, sound-sensitive aliens first arrived on Earth.

As the trailer above shows, we’ll be following Sam (Lupita Nyong’o, Black Panther), Eric (Joseph Quinn, Stranger Things), and a number of others, as the extra terrestrial monsters arrive in New York City. It doesn’t take long for them to realise that silence may be one of their only tools for survival.

The cast includes Alex Wolff and Djimon Hounsou, the latter reprising his role as Henri, the character we met in John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Part II.

The film was directed by Pig helmer Michael Sarnoski, who came on board after Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Mud) left due to creative differences. Sarnoski also penned the film’s screenplay, based on a story he conceived with Krasinski.

A Quiet Place: Day One will open in Australian cinemas on June 27th and US cinemas on June 28th.
