Netflix has released the official teaser trailer for Alice in Borderland season 3, the next chapter in the hit Japanese survival drama based on Haro Aso’s manga.
Directed once again by Shinsuke Sato, the series returns this September with lead stars Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya back in the game — alongside a mix of returning and new cast members.

Arisu and Usagi Return… But the Game Isn’t Over
Season 2 ended with Arisu and Usagi escaping the Borderland, their memories of the deadly games fading as they reentered the real world. They’re now married, living what appears to be a peaceful life — until things take a sudden turn. Usagi disappears, setting off a desperate search that leads Arisu back to the Borderland. And it’s not long before he’s dodging fire arrows and electric traps, risking it all once again to find her.
A newly introduced character named Ryuji, a scholar of the afterlife, seems to hold the key to Usagi’s whereabouts. Meanwhile, a cryptic figure named Banda appears with information that sends Arisu hurtling back into chaos. All roads now lead to the Joker — the final card in the game — and the twisted fate it promises.

A World Between Life and Death
The teaser gives us a glimpse of the returning nightmare, with rapid-fire images of death-defying games, strange new faces, and a haunting tone that suggests the stakes are even higher this time. A poster released alongside the trailer shows Arisu and Usagi reaching for each other across a void — visually capturing the eerie, liminal space that defines the Borderland.
Among the new cast glimpsed in the footage are a screaming Tetsu, a grinning Rei with electric-blue hair, and the gun-wielding Kazuya — each one seemingly ready to upend the rules. Kento Kaku also joins as Ryuji, whose role appears central to this new chapter.
With only the Joker card remaining, season 3 is set to explore new corners of the Borderland, push its players to new limits, and, perhaps, bring Arisu and Usagi to a final reckoning. What that card represents — salvation, damnation, or something in between — remains unknown.
Alice in Borderland season 3 premieres globally on Netflix on 25 September.
