Warner Bros. has unveiled the official trailer for Barbie, the highly-anticipated film taking the popular doll brand to the big screen with Margot Robbie in the lead role.

The plot finds Barbie (Robbie) in for a world of change when she begins to question her seemingly perfect life in Barbie Land. As the trailer shows, she’s given a chance to find answers by going to the real world. Barbie, with Ken (Ryan Gosling) along for the ride, sets off to this strange new world to find true happiness.

Joining Robbie and Gosling is a large ensemble cast that includes America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Simu Liu, Dua Lipa, and Helen Mirren, among others.

The film is directed by Little Women and Lady Bird helmer Greta Gerwig, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story). The strong behind-the-scenes line-up includes director of photography Rodrigo Prieto (The Irishman, Brokeback Mountain), production designer Sarah Greenwood (Beauty and the Beast, Atonement), editor Nick Houy (Little Women, Lady Bird), costume designer Jacqueline Durran (Little Women, Anna Karenina), visual effects supervisor Glen Pratt (Paddington 2, Beauty and the Beast) and music supervisor George Drakoulias (White Noise, Marriage Story), with music by Oscar winners Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt (A Star Is Born).

Plenty of new footage shown off in the new trailer, which promises that it’s the movie for you – whether you love or hate Barbie, and also includes a touch of Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” (which fans have, naturally, been clamouring for).

Barbie will open in Australian cinemas on July 20th and U.S. cinemas on July 21st.
