‘Barbie’ Trailer: Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling Get Dolled Up

Warner Bros.

A new teaser trailer has arrived for Barbie, unveiling more footage from the live-action film taking Mattel’s popular doll brand to the big screen.

It’s a fun new trailer, showcasing more of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken, more of Barbie Land, and more glimpses of the huge cast. Still not much plot to go on, although Warner Bros. has released the following logline: To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken.

As I said, there’s an absolutely enormous cast. Joining Robbie and Gosling are (deep breath now) Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell, Ana Cruz Kayne, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Scott Evans, Jamie Demetriou, Connor Swindells, Sharon Rooney, Nicola Coughlan, Ritu Arya, Emerald Fennell, Dua Lipa and Helen Mirren.

The film is directed and co-written by Greta Gerwig, making her fourth feature film as director following Nights & Weekends, Lady Bird, and Little Women. Gerwig wrote the screenplay alongside Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story, The Squid and the Whale), her real-life partner.

Barbie will be opening in Australian cinemas on July 20th and U.S. cinemas on July 21st.
