‘Barbie’: Watch Ryan Gosling Flex and Belt Out the “I’m Just Ken” Song

“I’m just Ken. Anywhere else, I’d be a ten. Is it my destiny to live and die a life of blonde fragility?”

Ken is having a bit of an existential crisis in the upcoming Barbie movie – a role that Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling looks to have embraced with gusto. Warner Bros. has unveiled an amusing “Just Ken” trailer for the anticipated film, showcasing Gosling as he puts his all into a musical number that finds Ken pondering his place in Barbieland – and his friendzone situation with Barbie (Margot Robbie).

“I’m Just Ken,” a nod to ’80s balled, was by written by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt and was one of the first tracks penned for the film along with Dua Lipa song “Dance the Night.”

Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig (Little Women, Lady Bird) and with a cast that includes America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell, among many others, opens in Australian cinemas on July 20th and U.S. cinemas on July 21st.
