‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ Trailer: Amandla Stenberg, Pete Davidson & More Are in for One Bloody Party Game

A24

The official trailer has arrived for pitch-black comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies, an upcoming A24 release starring Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give), Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm), and Pete Davidson (The King of Staten Island), among others.

We follow a group of rich 20-somethings as they partake in a hurricane party at a remote family mansion. They decide to play the titular party game, a whodunnit-style activity where a player could be the “murderer”.  And wouldn’t you know it, everything goes very, very wrong.

Promising early reviews (a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing) suggest a well-written and well-performed picture that balances wry, socially aware comedy with slasher movie leanings. Just don’t expect an overt horror slasher outing here; reviews commend the film for how it uses genre tropes, without going all the way into either comedy or horror.

This marks the sophomore feature as helmer for actress-turned-director Halina Reijn, who made her directorial debut with 2019 drama Instinct.

Bodies Bodies Bodies, also starring Myha’la Herrold (HBO’s Industry), Chase Sui Wonders (HBO’s Generation), Rachel Sennott (Shiva Baby), and Lee Pace (Halt and Catch Fire), will be in U.S. cinemas from August 5th.
