Australian streaming service Binge has announced that a second season of acclaimed Aussie series Colin from Accounts has been given the green light.

News of the season 2 renewal comes after the first season of the romantic comedy series earned three wins at the 63rd Annual TV Week Logie Awards: Most Outstanding Comedy Program, and Most Outstanding Actor and Actress for Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer respectively.

Co-created and written by stars Brammall and Dyer, the series tells of two complex, funny humans who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog.

“We’re thrilled that Binge is finally giving in and letting us do another one,” Brammall and Dyer said in a statement. “Turns out the Border Terrier community is extremely powerful. Thank you to everybody around the world who has enjoyed the show, we can’t wait to bring you all a second season. Stay tuned for more shenanigans.”

Said Alison Hurbert-Burns, Commissioner and Binge Executive Director: “The funniest couple on TV (and their dog) are coming back. Binge is thrilled to confirm a second season of the award-winning Colin from Accounts. We left season one unsure if Ashley and Gordon could get Colin back so of course we need to see what’s next for these loveable characters that audiences in Australia, and the world have fallen in love with.”

Colin from Accounts is the most watched original scripted series of all time from Foxtel Group. The first season was sold to multiple territories around the world, most recently the BBC in the United Kingdom where it launched to international praise.

Season 2 will be produced by Easy Tiger Productions (Jack Irish, Rake, The Twelve). Patrick and Harriet will return to write, star and Executive Produce Season two. Paramount Global Content Distribution distributes the series outside Australia and New Zealand.
