Apple TV+ has unveiled the official trailer for upcoming sci-fi series Dark Matter, led by Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly. Watch it above.

The nine-episode series, based on the acclaimed 2016 book by bestselling author Blake Crouch, follows physicist, professor and family man, Jason Dessen (Edgerton), and what unfolds after he is abducted on his way home. He awakens… to an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.

Crouch has been a pivotal creative force in taking his book to the screen, serving as executive producer, showrunner, and writer. Executive producers also include Matt Tolmach and David Manpearl for Matt Tolmach Productions, and Edgerton.

The series joins an impressive line-up of sci-fi series on Apple TV+. The streamer’s sci-fi library also includes Foundation, For All Mankind, Severance, Constellation, Silo, and Invasion, among others.

Dark Matter, with a cast that also includes Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi and Oakes Fegley, will launch with a two-episode premiere on May 8th and will unfold with a new episode weekly through June 26th.
