A plot-heavy (verging on spoilery?) trailer has arrived for Speak No Evil, a Blumhouse-produced, James McAvoy-starring remake of the 2022 Danish psychological horror film of the same name. Take a look above.

The film tells of American couple Louise and Ben Dalton, played by Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate, Halt and Catch Fire) and Scoot McNairy (Argo, A Quiet Place Part II), who, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes (Alix West Lefler, The Good Nurse, Riverdale), accept the weekend-holiday invitation of Paddy (McAvoy), his wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi, Game of Thrones) and their furtive, mute son Ant (newcomer Dan Hough).

Suffice to say, things don’t exactly go well. Paddy, you see, is a charismatic, alpha-male estate owner whose untrammeled hospitality masks an unspeakable darkness.

The picture is directed and written by James Watkins, known for his brutal 2008 debut, Eden Lake, 2012’s Daniel Radcliffe-starring horror film The Woman in Black, and 2016 Idris Elba actioner The Take (aka Bastille Day).

Speak No Evil will be in Australian cinemas on September 12th and US cinemas on September 13th.
