Take a look at the trailer that Netflix has dropped for big upcoming series Dead Boy Detectives, based on characters created for DC by The Sandman creator Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner.

Expanding the universe we were introduced to in Netflix series The Sandman, the eight-episode supernatural series follows Edwin Payne (played by newcomer George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri, Fate: The Winx Saga), “the brains” and “the brawn” behind the Dead Boy Detectives agency. They’re both ghosts, best friends, and although they’re dead and born decades apart, they’ve chosen to remain on Earth and use their powers for good.

They will do anything to stick together – including escaping evil witches, Hell and Death herself (Kirby Howell-Baptiste, reprising the role she played in an episode of The Sandman – you get a glimpse in the trailer). With the help of a clairvoyant named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), they are able to crack some of the mortal realm’s most mystifying paranormal cases.

The cast includes Jenn Lyon, Briana Cuoco, Lukas Gage, David Iacono, and Ruth Connell.

Serving as co-showrunners are Steve Yockey (The Flight Attendant, Supernatural) and Beth Schwartz (Sweet Tooth, Arrow), with Greg Berlanti (Riverdale, You), Jeremy Carver (Supernatural), and Sarah Schechter (Riverdale, You) on board as executive producers.

Dead Boy Detectives premieres on Netflix on April 25.
