‘Dune: Prophecy’ Trailer Unveils Series Set 10,000 Years Before Paul Atreides

A first look teaser trailer has arrived for the upcoming series Dune: Prophecy, set within the vast and intricate universe of Dune, crafted by the legendary author Frank Herbert. Take a look at the trailer above for the series that will stream on Max in the US and Binge in Australia.

Dune: Prophecy transports us 10,000 years before the rise of Paul Atreides. The series chronicles the epic journey of two Harkonnen sisters as they battle formidable forces threatening humanity’s future and lay the foundations for the legendary Bene Gesserit sect. This narrative draws inspiration from the novel Sisterhood of Dune, penned by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

The ensemble cast boasts a line-up that includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jihae, Tabu, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha.

Alison Schapker (Lost, The Flash, Westworld) leads the charge as showrunner and executive producer, with Diane Ademu-John (The Haunting of Bly Manor) co-developing the series and also serving as an executive producer. Anna Foerster (Lou, Westworld) brings her expertise as an executive producer and directs multiple episodes, including the premiere.

The executive producer team includes Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, John Cameron, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, and Jon Spaihts. New York Times bestselling author Brian Herbert, along with Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert, represents the Frank Herbert estate as executive producers. Additionally, Kevin J. Anderson, another New York Times bestselling author, serves as co-producer.

Dune: Prophecy‘s first season, assuming there’s more following a successful run, will consist of six episodes. No specific premiere date has been announced as yet, although Max has confirmed a Spring/Fall release.
