Take a look above at the official teaser trailer for Ferrari, the upcoming biopic on racer and automobile entrepreneur Enzo Ferrari.

What is Ferrari about? Here’s the official synopsis:

It is the summer of 1957. Behind the spectacle of Formula 1, ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in crisis. Bankruptcy threatens the factory he and his wife, Laura built from nothing ten years earlier. Their volatile marriage has been battered by the loss of their son, Dino a year earlier. Ferrari struggles to acknowledge his son Piero with Lina Lardi. Meanwhile, his drivers’ passion to win pushes them to the edge as they launch into the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the Mille Miglia.

Who stars in Ferrari?

The cast includes Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari, Penélope Cruz as Laura Ferrari, Shailene Woodley as Lina Lardi, Gabriel Leone as Alfonso de Portago, Sarah Gadon as Linda Christian, Jack O’Connell as Peter Collins, and Patrick Dempsey as Piero Taruffi.

Who directed and wrote Ferrari?

The film was directed by renowned filmmaker Michael Mann, known for Heat, The Last of the Mohicans, The Insider, Collateral, Ali, and Miami Vice, among other titles. Mann wrote the screenplay with Troy Kennedy Martin (The Italian Job, Kelly’s Heroes), who passed away from lung cancer in 2009 (Mann has been trying to get a Ferrari film into gear since 2000).

The film is based on the 1991 biography Enzo Ferrari: The Man and the Machine by motorsport journalist Brock Yates.

Does Ferrari have a release date?

Ferrari will be released in U.S. cinemas on Christmas Day and Australian cinemas on January 4th, 2024. The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, where it received a seven-and-a-half-minute standing ovation from the audience.
