Hold onto your seats: The first trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has just zoomed into view!
This prequel to George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road takes us back to the dystopian universe that first revved its engines over 30 years ago with Mel Gibson in the lead. As the title suggests, this chapter tells the untold story of the badass played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road.
Anya Taylor-Joy plays the younger version of the character, who we find on a mission to return home after being whisked away and thrown into a world ruled by biker hordes and tyrants battling for power.
The cast includes Chris Hemsworth (almost unrecognisable as a gang leader named Warlord Dementus), Alyla Browne, Tom Burke, Daniel Webber, Nathan Jones, and Angus Sampson, among others.
Miller directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Nico Lathouris, who was also a writer on Fury Road.
Fingers crossed for another turbo-charged cinematic ride! Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga races into Australian cinemas on May 23 and U.S. cinemas on May 24, 2024.
