The official trailer has arrived for Seth MacFarlane’s latest brainchild, Ted, an event series hitting screens in January.

This prequel series rolls back the clock to 1993, where we find our not-so-cuddly protagonist, Ted (MacFarlane, continuing to voice the role), past his 15 minutes of fame and living with his 16-year-old buddy, John Bennett (Max Burkholder). John is, of course, a younger version of the character that Mark Wahlberg played in the 2012 film and its 2015 sequel. Despite being a questionable influence on young John, Ted proves that he’s a bear of a friend, always ready to stick his neck out.

The cast of the series also includes Alanna Ubach (Euphoria), Scott Grimes (The Orville) and Giorgia Whigham (13 Reasons Why), with MacFarlane also on board as executive producer, writer, director, and co-showrunner.

All seven episodes will be available to stream on Binge in Australia and Peacock in the U.S. from January 11th.
