The first trailer has been unveiled for Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, bringing back our beloved band of misfits to the big screen for one more hurrah. As an emotional Rocket says: “We’ll all fly away together, one last time, into the forever.” Hey, who’s cutting onions?
Chapter three’s plot finds Peter Quill (Chris Pratt, reprising the role), who’s still reeling from the loss of Gamora, rallying his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. It’s a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
Director and writer James Gunn returns to finish off his trilogy, with a returning cast that includes Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and Sean Gunn. Among the newcomers: Will Poulter as Adam Warlock (the trailer offers up a quick glimpse of him), Chukwudi Iwuji as The High Evolutionary, and Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opens in Australian cinemas on May 4th and U.S. cinemas on May 5th, 2023.
