Unveiled during the Super Bowl, a big new trailer has arrived for Marvel‘s upcoming James Gunn-written and directed picture, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
In the third and final film in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, we catch up with our beloved band of misfits as they settle into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
A lot of new footage shown in the exciting, emotional trailer, including more of Zoe Saldana’s return as Gamora (a different Gamora, as we saw in Avengers: Endgame) and more of the film’s villain, the High Evolutionary, played by Chukwudi Iwuji. Plenty of action and high-stakes drama ahead. One thing appears to be for certain: there will be heartbreak. “Are you ready, for one last ride?” asks Quill. We’re not too sure our hearts are prepared.
The cast includes Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter and Maria Bakalova.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will open in Australian cinemas on May 4th and U.S. cinemas on May 5th. Watch the trailer, set to Rainbow’s “Since You’ve Been Gone,” below and scroll down to also check out the film’s new poster.
