Big-screen legend Harrison Ford is signing on to his first major television series role with Shrinking, a comedy series heading to Apple TV+.

Shrinking is set to star Jason Segel, who is also writing and executive producing the series alongside Ted Lasso‘s co-creator Bill Lawrence and star/writer Brett Goldstein.

The series will have Segel playing a grieving therapist who begins to his clients exactly what he thinks. By breaking the rules and ignoring both his training and ethics, he discovers that he is actually making big changes to people’s lives… including his own.

As per Deadline, Ford will be playing “blue-collar shrink” Phil, a blunt and sharp pioneer in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Having been a leader in the field and built a successful practice that he shares with two young proteges, Jimmy and Gabby, Phil finds himself forced out of his comfort zone and grappling with family and legacy after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

Ford’s next big-screen role will be in the long-awaited Indiana Jones 5, which is currently looking at a June 2023 release. Segel can be seen in recently-released Netflix film Windfall and HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
