Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Haunted Hotel, an adult animated comedy where the guests are ghosts, the staff are stranger, and the family running the place can barely hold it together. The 10-episode series comes from Rick and Morty writer Matt Roller, mixing family sitcom beats with supernatural chaos.

A Family Business with a Supernatural Twist
At the heart of the story is Katherine (Eliza Coupe), a recently divorced mum trying to keep the Undervale — a haunted hotel — from collapsing under the weight of its otherworldly residents. Her help? Estranged brother Nathan (Will Forte), who’s now one of the ghosts and full of advice she didn’t ask for. Also on hand are her kids Ben (Skyler Gisondo) and Esther (Natalie Palamides), plus Abaddon (Jimmi Simpson), a demon from Hell trapped in the body of an 18th-century child.

From Rick and Morty to Netflix’s Haunted Hallways
“I’m thrilled to be working with Netflix and an amazingly talented cast and crew to bring to life the stories of the dead, the evil, and the struggling hospitality workers at the Undervale Hotel,” Roller told Netflix site Tudum. Netflix Director of Adult Animation Billy Wee called the series “wildly inventive” and praised the team, adding, “I can’t wait for fans all over the world to experience this hilarious show.”
Roller serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Rick and Morty and Community creatives Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon, and Steve Levy. Erica Hayes (Rick and Morty, Carol & the End of the World) is supervising director.
Haunted Hotel opens its doors on Netflix on September 19.
