Netflix has released the trailer for Intimacy, an upcoming Spanish drama series created by Verónica Fernández (Hache, Ismael) and Laura Sarmiento Pallarés (Matadero).

The plot follows four women who find themselves forced to tread the fine line between what belongs to public and private life. The catalyst for the theme is the story of Malen (played by Money Heist‘s Itziar Ituño), a politician whose promising future is put at risk when a sex tape involving her is leaked to the press.

“I’m embarrassed, but I’m not ashamed,” Malen tells reporters in the trailer. “Shame is for those who have tried to use my private life to destroy me.” In an era where private activities and interactions are often twisted and used to bring down people in the public eye, it’s an interesting discussion to have. The series poses questions such as: Where are the boundaries of our Intimacy? What happens to our lives when our privacy becomes everyone’s conversation?

The cast includes Patricia López Arnaiz (The Invisible Guardian, The Plauge), Ana Wagener (The Invisible Guest, Biutiful),  Verónica Echegui (Fortitude, Trust), and Emma Suárez (Julieta, April’s Daughter).

Intimacy will be streaming on Netflix from June 10th.
