The first trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth has arrived, offering a big look at the next chapter in the long-running Jurassic franchise. Watch it above.
The plot, set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, follows covert operations specialist Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson), tasked with leading a team into a forbidden island research facility tied to the original Jurassic Park. Their objective: retrieve the DNA of three colossal dinosaurs that could unlock a groundbreaking medical breakthrough. The mission goes sideways, of course, when they cross paths with a civilian family stranded after a boating accident—turning their secretive extraction into a fight for survival against prehistoric horrors.
The cast includes two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s trusted team member, and Bridgerton’s Jonathan Bailey as paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. They’re joined by Rupert Friend as a Big Pharma representative, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as the father of the stranded family, and supporting players including Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Philippine Velge, and Ed Skrein.
OTHER POSTS:
Director of this one is Gareth Edwards, whose credits include Rogue One, The Creator, and 2014’s Godzilla. The film marks a return for Jurassic Park’s original screenwriter, David Koepp, who has penned the script for this new entry. Longtime franchise producers Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley return, with Steven Spielberg onboard as an executive producer.
Hopefully this serves as a renewed breath for the franchise, which has remained a box office juggernaut for Universal despite mixed reviews. The previous entry, for example, Jurassic World Dominion, has the franchise’s worst Rotten Tomatoes score at 29% but still managed to crack the billion-dollar mark in worldwide box office receipts.
Jurassic World Rebirth is set to hit US cinemas on July 2nd and Australian cinemas on July 3rd.
