The official trailer has arrived for an upcoming Gerard Butler action-thriller titled Last Seen Alive, which brings to mind Kurt Russell’s slick ’97 thriller Breakdown.

Butler plays Will Spann, a man who finds his world flipped upside down when his soon-to-be ex-wife, Lisa (played by Jaimie Alexander), mysteriously vanishes at a gas station on their way to her parents’ house. Will heads to the cops, who suspect that he may have something to do with her disappearance. Determined to find Lisa by any means necessary, Will delves into the local town’s criminal underworld in a race against time.

This is the third feature for director Brian Goodman, who previously delivered 2017 Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Rhys Meyers thriller Black Butterfly and the underrated 2008 crime drama What Doesn’t Kill You, starring Ethan Hawke and Mark Ruffalo. Black Butterfly co-writer Marc Frydman penned the screenplay.

Last Seen Alive, also starring Russell Hornsby, Ethan Embry, Michael Irby, Cindy Hogan and Bruce Altman, will be hitting Australian cinemas on May 19th. U.S. release date to be announced soon.
