‘Locked’ Trailer: Bill Skarsgård is Trapped and Tortured in Anthony Hopkins’ Car

The first trailer has arrived for Locked, a thriller that traps Bill Skarsgård in Anthony Hopkins‘ high-tech SUV. The film is directed by Brightburn helmer David Yarovesky and produced by horror icon Sam Raimi. Take a look above.

A remake of the 2019 Argentine thriller 4X4, the film follows a small-time thief, Eddie (Skarsgård), who breaks into the wrong luxury SUV. What he thinks will be a quick score turns into a terrifying ordeal when the vehicle locks down, leaving him at the mercy of its owner, William (Hopkins). “I’ve invested a lot of time and money into this project,” says the twisted, self-proclaimed vigilante.

As the trailer shows, William turns his vehicle’s high-tech features into weapons—lowering the temperature, electrocuting the seats, and even remotely driving the car into chaos. When a terrified Eddie asks what he wants, William replies, “I just want to introduce you to… a little taste of hell.”

Director David Yarovesky described working with the two leads as “a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” telling EW:

“Working with Bill and Anthony was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They are two of the greatest living actors, each having brought to life some of the most iconic villains of all time. Now, they’re going head-to-head in a battle of wits — a fight to the death! Together, they are electric! I’m deeply grateful to both of them, as well as to Sam Raimi, for being such incredible creative partners and for trusting me to steer the ship.”

Locked is set to be released in US cinemas on 21 March.
