New ‘Napoleon’ Trailer: Joaquin Phoenix Takes Charge in Ridley Scott-Directed Epic

A big new trailer has been unveiled for Napoleon, an ambitious epic chronicling the complex journey of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, portrayed by Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix.

Phoenix takes on the role of the influential French military strategist and political figure, known for his pivotal role during the Revolutionary War and coronation as Emperor of the French in 1804.

The film is being marketed as a grand-scale spectacle delving into the intricacies of Napoleon’s rise and fall, looking at his unwavering pursuit of power, and his passionate and tumultuous relationship with Josephine (played by Vanessa Kirby).

The film is directed by Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Alien, Blade Runner, The Martian) and written by David Scarpa, whose credits include Scott’s All the Money in the World, The Last Castle and The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008).

The ensemble cast includes Tahar Rahim, Ben Miles, Ludivine Sagnier, Matthew Needham, Youssef Kerkour, and Phil Cornwell, among others.

Produced by Apple Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures, Napoleon is scheduled to open in the U.S. on November 22nd and Australia on November 23rd. The film will be streaming on Apple TV+ at a later date.
