Netflix has released the official trailer for upcoming documentary Sly, taking an intimate look at the actor-writer-director-producer that is Sylvester Stallone.
For nearly 50 years, Stallone has entertained millions with iconic characters and blockbuster franchises, from Rocky to Rambo to The Expendables. This retrospective documentary offers an in-depth look at the star, paralleling his inspirational underdog-story with the indelible characters he has brought to life.
The documentary is directed by Primetime Emmy winner Thom Zimmy, who’s no stranger to placing spotlights on big names, having directed 2019’s The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash and HBO’s 2018 documentary Elvis Presley: The Searcher. Zimmy has also worked with music artist Bruce Springsteen for years, helming both music videos and long-form concert films.
Sly, which will also feature appearances from the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Quentin Tarantino, will be streaming on Netflix from November 3rd.
