RLJE Films has released the official trailer for Nocebo, an Eva Green-starring psychological thriller lined up for a theatrical and Shudder release in November.

Green stars as a fashion designer suffering from a mysterious illness that confounds her doctors and frustrates her husband (Mark Strong). It appears that help arrives in the form of a Filipino nanny (Chai Fonacier), who begins to use traditional folk healing techniques. A horrifying truth is soon revealed.

The word “Nocebo”, by the way, refers to a negative effect that patients can experience due to their own negative expectations of a treatment.

This is the third feature from director Lorcan Finnegan, reuniting with screenwriter Garret Shanley following their previous atmospheric curiosities, Vivarium (our review of that Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots-starrer HERE) and Without Name.

Nocebo will be getting a limited theatrical run in the U.S. on November 4th before a Digital and On Demand release on November 22nd.
