Instagram mischief sparks speculation
Ryan Reynolds doesn’t exactly shy away from trolling fans, and his latest Instagram stunt has Marvel followers convinced Deadpool will be in Avengers: Doomsday. The actor posted an Avengers logo sprayed with Deadpool-esque graffiti, a nod that quickly attracted over a million likes and sent the rumour mill into overdrive.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision newsletter poured fuel on the fire with a brief but pointed line: “Sources tell Heat Vision that yes, Deadpool will appear in Avengers: Doomsday.”
The detail wasn’t published in a standalone story on their site, which has led some to question just how firm the scoop really is.
…another says “don’t count on it”
Deadline came out with a report that very different take. Their reporting stated, “Sources tell us that they haven’t seen Reynolds on set in London, and he isn’t set to appear in the next two Avengers movie.”
According to Deadline, the Deadpool graffiti logo was likely nothing more than a fan creation that Reynolds found amusing enough to share. They pointed out that a similar image already cropped up in Deadpool & Wolverine — as a flag in a dystopian alternate reality scene.
Marvel stays quiet, fans left guessing
Marvel Studios hasn’t commented, and Kevin Feige has previously teased that the official cast list is far from complete. That leaves plenty of room for surprises, and industry chatter suggests more names are still to come. For now, whether Reynolds is actually slipping back into the red suit for Doomsday remains unanswered.
What is certain is that Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up as one of Marvel’s most crowded crossover events yet. Confirmed and rumoured appearances stretch across the MCU, Fox-era X-Men, and the freshly introduced Fantastic Four. Deadpool would be an obvious — and fan-pleasing — addition. But until there’s confirmation on the record, the question of whether he’ll join the chaos remains hanging.
