The trailer has arrived for Saw X, the tenth film in the horror-thriller franchise that director James Wan kicked off back in 2004.

The next chapter is set between the events of the first and second film and brings back serial killer John Kramer (Tobin Bell, reprising the role). The plot follows a sick and desperate John as he travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure, which he hopes will be a miracle cure for his cancer. Instead, he discovers that the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Well, he’s not the one that’s going to pay dearly. Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.

The film is directed by Kevin Greutert, who also helmed Saw VI and Saw 3D. His credits include horror films Jessabelle, Visions, and Jackals. The screenplay was written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, returning franchise scribes who also penned entries Jigsaw and Spiral.

Saw X, also starring Shawnee Smith (returning to the franchise as Amanda Young), Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, Michael Beach, and Renata Vaca, will open in Australian cinemas on September 28th and U.S. cinemas on September 29th.
