A hype-building new promo and a range of new character posters have arrived for upcoming Marvel Studios series Secret Invasion, a Nick Fury-led chapter that finds him back on earth facing shapeshifting aliens.
The six-episode series, set in present day MCU, has Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) returning from space when he learns that a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls is intent on invading Earth. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.
The one-minute promo showcases new tidbits of footage and further cements the decidedly more serious tone in store – reminding of the grounded, political thriller edge we had in Captain America: Winter Soldier. We’ll see what we’re in for, but with what we’ve gotten so far, expectations are certainly high.
A great cast joining Jackson for this one, with returning faces including Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle, and newcomers to the MCU including Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Carmen Ejogo, Dermot Mulroney, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard. and Killian Scott.
The series was created by Kyle Bradstreet (who previously served as a writer and executive producer on Mr. Robot) and is directed by Ali Selim (whose credits include Criminal Minds, Manhunt: Unabomber, and The Looming Tower).
