A brutal trailer has been released for Sisu: Road to Revenge, the sequel to 2023’s Sisu from writer-director Jalmari Helander, with Jorma Tommila returning as badass Aatami Korpi.
Set in 1946, the plot finds Korpi returning to the home where his family was murdered, dismantling it, loading it onto a truck, and setting out to rebuild it somewhere safe in their honour. Peace doesn’t last. Stephen Lang (Avatar, Don’t Breathe) co-stars as Red Army commander Igor Draganov, the man responsible for Korpi’s loss.

The trailer is stacked with over-the-top mayhem: Korpi reversing his truck to send a soldier through a windscreen; a low-flying plane clipping a stack of logs shunted into its path; a pickaxe hurled straight into an enemy’s mouth. If you’re after crazy action and gnarly kills, this looks to have plenty.
Helander returns as writer and director, with a cast that also includes Richard Brake (Barbarian, Mayor of Kingstown).
The first film was a fun surprise hit – let’s hope we have a worthy follow-up here. Sisu: Road to Revenge opens in Australian cinemas on November 20 and U.S. cinemas on November 21.
