Netflix has unveiled the official teaser trailer for upcoming series The 8 Show, another South Korean series with a life-or-death-game-style narrative following the hit that is Squid Game.

The 8 Show, based on the Naver webtoons Money Game and Pie Game by Bae Jin-soo, follows eight individuals trapped in a mysterious 8-story building. They participate in a tempting but dangerous game show that seems simple enough; as we learn in the teaser, “the show doesn’t require any skills or knowledge.” As for the prize money, the potential is highly enticing: it goes up the longer they stay.

There’s a lot that’s left unexplained, of course, such who is in charge of this game, why these individuals were chosen, who are (and how many of them) are watching, and if the time that’s passing is… well, regular time (the “8” in the trailer’s title logo, for example, tilts to become an infinity symbol).

The cast includes Ryu Jun-yeol on floor 3, Chun Woo-hee on 8, Park Jeong-min on floor 7, Lee Yul-eum on floor 4, Park Hae-joon on  floor6, Lee Zoo-young on floor 2, Moon Jeong-hee on floor 5, and Bae Seong-woo on floor 1.

The 8 Show, directed by Han Jae-rim (Emergency Declaration, The King), premieres on Netflix on May 17.
