The teaser trailer has been unveiled for The Continental, an upcoming three-part event series set that expands the John Wick universe.

The series follows a young Winston Scott, played by Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant). Ian McShane has played the older Winston in the Keanu Reeves-starring John Wick films. The plot explores the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the Wick-verse through the eyes and actions of a young Winston, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.

The cast includes Mel Gibson, Ayomide Adegun (playing a young Charon), Peter Green, Ben Robson, Mishel Prada, Jessica Allain, Hubert Point-Du, and Nhung Kate.

The Continental was created by Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons, with Coolidge and Ward also serving as writers, showrunner and executive producers. The EP team includes film franchise director Chad Stahelski, franchise creator Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Albert Hughes, Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger.

The first and third episodes were directed by Albert Hughes (The Book of Eli, From Hell). Prolific television helmer Charlotte Brandstrom (The Witcher, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) directs the second.

In the U.S., The Continental will be premiering on CBSUniversal streaming service Peacock sometime in September.
