‘The Four Seasons’ Trailer: Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Will Forte and More in Netflix Rom-Com Series

Netflix has released the official trailer for The Four Seasons, a new eight-episode comedy-drama series that sees Tina Fey and Steve Carell reunite as long-time friends navigating life’s ups, downs, and unexpected relationship shakeups. The series – based on the 1981 film of the same name directed by, written by, and starring Alan Alda – brings together an ensemble that includes Colman Domingo, Will Forte, Marco Calvani, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Erika Henningsen. Take a look above.

In the show’s teaser, we meet three couples heading off on a seemingly relaxing group getaway—until one of the pairings drops a bombshell: they’re splitting up. The news throws their close-knit circle into disarray, testing their bonds and dragging up personal truths that have long bubbled beneath the surface.

Created by Fey alongside 30 Rock collaborators Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, the series looks to promise dry wit, poignant moments, and an exploration of how love and friendship shift with time. “I hope audiences feel like they are inside a big sweater with us,” Fey told Netflix site Tudum, “and also having a dinner party with us, and I hope that any of the joy and warmth that we all feel for each other all transfers to them, and that we are a comfort and provide some laughs for them in their home.”

Carell described the show as “lived-in,” saying, “I attribute that to the writing and the casting of it, too. It feels like these people have existed in each other’s lives for a long time. There’s a code, there’s an unspoken relationship that entwines all of them, and they speak the same language to each other. There’s a shorthand, and it’s funny.”

Directed by a team that includes Fey, Fisher, and Wigfield, the series is produced by Universal Television, with Alan Alda and Marissa Bregman also attached as producers.

The Four Seasons will be released on Netflix on May 1st.
