A Summer Itinerary Goes Off Track
Heather (Cline) thinks she has it all figured out: one last adventure with her friends before life gets serious. She’s mapped out the trip, booked the stops, and isn’t expecting to find anything more than memories to bring home. That changes when she meets Jack (Apa), a free-spirited traveller following a different kind of guide — a journal from his great-grandfather detailing a journey through Europe.
Their attraction is instant, and Heather’s carefully laid plans start to unravel. “He followed us from the train station,” one of her friends whispers early on, raising eyebrows before the spark fully ignites. Soon, Jack is asking her to delay her return, and Heather is letting herself fall into a romance she didn’t plan for.

Alongside Cline and Apa, the film features Josh Lucas, Sofia Wylie, Madison Thompson, Orlando Norman, Eva García Montiel, and Giuseppe Schillaci.
The screenplay comes from Les Bohem (Dante’s Peak) and Vera Herbert (This Is Us). And at the helm is Lasse Hallström — a filmmaker well-versed in tearjerkers and romantic entanglements, having previously helmed titles such as What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, The Cider House Rules, Safe Haven and Chocolat.
