Take a look above at the trailer that Warner Bros. has dropped for Trap, the latest from filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan (Cabin at the Woods, Split, The Sixth Sense).
It’s an intriguing concept. We follow a dad (Josh Hartnett) and his daughter (Ariel Donoghue) as they attend the concert of a famous popstar (played by singer Saleka, aka Saleka Shyamalan – the director’s daughter). Here’s the kicker: this apparent nice-guy dad is actually the killer – and there’s a giant police operation underway at the concert to bring the killer down.
An enticing plot (from what we’re given) – and one that could very well be packing a plethora of Shyamalan-style twists. A potentially very juicy lead role for Hartnett too. Fingers crossed this one’s a winner.
Trap, also starring Hayley Mills and Allison Pill, opens in Australian cinemas on 1 August and US cinemas on 9 August.
