David Harbour is an ass-kicking Santa Claus in the upcoming holiday action-comedy Violent Night, which has its amusingly brutal trailer for you to watch below.

The plot has Santa Claus (Harbour) taking on a team of mercenaries that break into a wealthy family’s compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage. John Leguizamo plays the leader of these mercs – a group that are firmly on Santa’s naughty list.

This fun-looking flick is directed by Tommy Wirkola, whose credits include Dead Snow, What Happened to Monday, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and The Trip. The screenplay was written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, writers of the 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog movie and its 2022 sequel.

Violent Night, also starring Cam Gigandet, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi Patterson and Beverly D’Angelo, arrives in Australian cinemas on December 1st and opens in the U.S. on December 2nd.
