Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, offering a big look at the duo’s next stop-motion adventure. The film marks the return of Feathers McGraw, the penguin villain introduced in 1993’s The Wrong Trousers. Take a look at the trailer above.
The new instalment sees Wallace creating a “smart” garden gnome named Norbot, a device intended to help with household tasks. However, it becomes apparent that Norbot is being manipulated by Feathers McGraw, who has returned to settle old scores. Gromit takes on the task of saving Wallace and preventing further disaster.
“Returning to Wallace and Gromit is like meeting up with family friends,” co-director Nick Park, who created Wallace & Gromit, Creature Comforts, Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep, and Early Man, told Netflix site Tudum. “People respond to them because they feel so familiar. They’re like an old married couple in some ways, who know each other so well –– it’s a sort of love-hate relationship, but when the chips are down, they are always there for each other. Wallace pushes Gromit’s loyalty to the extreme, and Gromit always wants Wallace to change. It’s something everyone can relate to.”
The film brings in Ben Whitehead as Wallace, following the passing of Peter Sallis in 2017. Gromit, as always, remains silent, his emotions expressed entirely through Aardman’s animation team.
Crossingham expressed hopes that the film will appeal to a wide audience: “I want this film to reach people who have never come across Wallace and Gromit before.”
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will be available to stream on Netflix from 3rd January 2025.
