The final official trailer has arrived for Disney‘s Zootopia 2, teeing up another case for Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde—and introducing a slithery new problem. Watch the trailer above and read on for the essentials.
The setup

Rookie cops Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick (Jason Bateman) stumble into Zootopia’s “hidden” reptile community and come nose-to-fang with Gary De’Snake, a mysterious pit viper voiced by Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan. The city gets bigger, weirder, and far scalier.
New faces & cameos
Alongside Quan’s Gary, the trailer spotlights the Lynxleys—one of Zootopia’s power families—played by Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Macaulay Culkin, and Brenda Song. Fortune Feimster turns up as Nibbles Maplestick, a beaver podcaster chasing reptile conspiracies; Idris Elba returns as Chief Bogo; Patrick Warburton is actor-turned-mayor Brian Winddancer; Quinta Brunson plays Dr. Fuzzby, a quokka therapy animal; and Nate Torrence is back as the endlessly chipper Clawhauser. Keep an ear out for two woolly cameos: Ed Shearin and Baalake Lambkin—voiced by (who else?) Ed Sheeran and producer Blake Slatkin.
Music & who’s steering
Shakira is back as Gazelle—and with a new original track, “Zoo.” The single is written by Ed Sheeran, Blake Slatkin, and Shakira; produced by Slatkin, Alex (A.C.) Castillo, Shakira, and Sheeran; and drops October 10. The film is directed by Oscar-winning duo Jared Bush and Byron Howard (Zootopia, Encanto), written by Bush, and produced by Yvett Merino. Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino (Up, The Batman) returns to score, with the full soundtrack landing November 21.
We’ll see how the sequel fares, considering the huge success that was the first film: a global haul of over USD$1 billion from a reported budget of USD$150 million and an Academy Award win for Best Animated Feature Film.

Zootopia 2 opens in U.S. cinemas on November 26 and Australian cinemas on November 27.
