Hyosan’s nightmare isn’t over yet — and this time, the infection is spreading way beyond the classroom. Netflix has confirmed that production has officially begun on season 2 of All of Us Are Dead, more than two years after the Korean zombie hit first sank its teeth into audiences around the world.
To mark the occasion, Netflix dropped a lighthearted behind-the-scenes video showing the cast gathering for a table read — with one very out-of-place (but moderately well-mannered) zombie joining them. Take a look at the announcement promo above and read on for details.

The first season, which premiered in January 2022, became a global sensation and one of Netflix’s most-watched non-English series of all time, charting in the Top 10 across over 90 countries. A second season was confirmed just a few months later in June 2022 — and after a long wait, the cameras are finally rolling.
Who’s Back and Who’s New
Several of the original cast members are returning, including Park Ji-hu as Nam On-jo, Cho Yi-hyun as Choi Nam-ra, Lomon as Lee Su-hyeok, and Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong-san — whose season 1 fate appeared sealed in the finale, though how he returns remains to be seen.
They’ll be joined by new additions Lee Min-jae (Weak Hero: Class 2), Kim Si-eun (Squid Game season 2), Roh Jae-won (Squid Game seasons 2 and 3), and Yoon Ga-i, all of whom are stepping into the chaos as the outbreak extends beyond Hyosan High.

Season 2 Shifts the Story to Seoul
Season 2 picks up with Nam On-jo now at university in Seoul, trying to move on from the horrors she faced. But peace doesn’t last. Another outbreak begins to take hold, pulling her — and a new group of students, including Yong Ma-ru (Lee Min-jae), So Ju-ran (Kim Si-eun), and Lee Jong-ah (Yoon Ga-i) — into a fight for survival all over again.
Elsewhere, returning survivors like Su-hyeok and Nam-ra wrestle with how the original outbreak has reshaped their lives. Nam-ra’s hybrid condition still looms large, and the mystery of her fate will likely continue to unravel. A new figure, Han Doo-seok (Roh Jae-won), emerges as a National Intelligence Service team leader, hinting at a wider government response to the growing crisis.
Returning Creative Team Promises Continuity
Behind the scenes, season 2 sees the return of director Lee JQ (Daily Dose of Sunshine), co-director Kim Nam-su, and writer Chun Sung-il (King the Land), keeping the same creative team in place to guide the series through its next outbreak.
No release date has been announced just yet, but filming is officially underway. The infection isn’t finished with us just yet.
