The highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s animated series Arcane is set to land in November, and the official trailer is finally here! The series, based on the popular League of Legends universe, continues the story of sisters Vi and Jinx, with the brewing conflict between Piltover and Zaun reaching a boiling point.

Arcane follows the lives of two pivotal characters from League of Legends: Vi (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) and her sister Jinx (Ella Purnell), formerly known as Powder. Season one saw the sisters diverging onto vastly different paths amidst the growing tension between the prosperous city of Piltover and the oppressed undercity of Zaun. Jinx, in particular, underwent a dramatic transformation, leaving behind her identity as Powder to become the chaotic force known as Jinx, while Vi emerged as a formidable warrior.

The second season will mark the conclusion of Arcane’s narrative, though co-creator Christian Linke has confirmed that this won’t be the end of storytelling within the League of Legends universe. “Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche,” Linke shared during a League Developer Update earlier this year. “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”

The series is built around the expansive world of the hit multiplayer online battle arena video game League of Legends, which was first released by Riot Games in 2009. Arcane was co-created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee and developed through a collaborative effort between Riot Games and French animation studio Fortiche.

Arcane season 2 is scheduled for release on Netflix in November. A specific date has yet to be announced.
