Hold onto your striped socks, folks: the official trailer has arrived for highly anticipated sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Tim Burton, the mastermind behind the original, is back in the director’s chair, and yes, Michael Keaton is reprising his role as the iconic, mischievous demon himself.

We’re getting the return of Oscar nominee Winona Ryder (you know her from Stranger Things and Little Women) as the delightfully quirky Lydia Deetz and two-time Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara (from Schitt$ Creek and Corpse Bride) returns as Delia Deetz. Among the new faces: Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream VI), playing Lydia’s rebellious daughter, Astrid, Justin Theroux (The Leftovers), Monica Bellucci (Spectre), newcomer Arthur Conti (House of the Dragon), and Willem Dafoe (Poor Things, At Eternity’s Gate).

The plot thickens when the Deetz family, spanning three generations, returns to their old haunt in Winter River after a family tragedy. Lydia’s daughter, Astrid, stumbles upon the eerie model of the town in the attic and unwittingly opens a portal to the Afterlife. It’s only a matter of time before someone says that infamous name three times, and Beetlejuice is back, ready to unleash his unique brand of mayhem.

The screenplay is crafted by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Wednesday), with a story by Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith (The LEGO® Batman Movie). The creative team includes Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood (Alice in Wonderland, Sweeney Todd) and Danny Elfman on the score (Big Fish, The Nightmare Before Christmas).

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is hitting Australian cinemas on September 5th and US cinemas on September 6th.
