A24 has unveiled a new trailer for the worryingly timely war action-thriller CIVIL WAR.

Starring Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Cailee Spaeny, among others, the film finds the United States at breaking point. The American Civil War took place in the 1860s and saw over 1 million lives lost. And that was with the weaponry and technology of that time.

This potential pot-stirrer comes from Alex Garland, the writer-director behind Annihilation and Ex Machina. Garland’s screenwriting credits also include 28 Days Later, Dredd, Sunshine, and Never Let Me Go.

Watch out for Civil War to hit U.S. cinemas, released by A24, on April 12th and Australian cinemas, released by Roadshow Films, on April 24th.
