‘Den of Thieves 2: Pantera’ Trailer: Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. Reunite for High-Stakes Heist in Action Sequel

The first trailer has been unveiled for Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, the upcoming action-thriller sequel to the 2018 action-thriller hit.

Gerard Butler is back as Big Nick, this time chasing down Donnie (O’Shea Jackson Jr, reprising the role) across Europe following the events of the first film. Once a relentless and gritty detective, the sequel finds Big Nick on a bit of a different course. This time, he wants in on a dangerous plan orchestrated by a network of ruthless diamond thieves and the Panther mafia. Their goal? A heist targeting the world’s largest diamond exchange.

The film is directed and written by Christian Gudegast, who helmed the first film in the same capacity. No doubt Lionsgate is looking for a repeat performance; the original Den of Thieves grossed over $80 million worldwide on a $30 million budget. Butler has certainly etched himself a tradition of hit January (US release) actioners, such as Plane and the Has Fallen series. The sequel is aiming for a similar trajectory, slated for a January release.

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera will be in Australian cinemas on January 9th and US cinemas on January 10th, 2025.
