The trailer has been released for the the fifth film in the Insidious horror franchise – said to be the final chapter in the Lambert family’s saga.

Insidious: The Red Door finds franchise star Patrick Wilson on double duty, working as both star and, for the first time, director. The film finds Josh (Wilson) and a now college-aged Dalton (Ty Simpkins) attempting to put their demons to rest once and for all. They must go deeper into The Further than ever before, facing their family’s dark past and a host of new and more horrifying terrors that lurk behind the red door.

Joining Wilson in front of the camera are fellow Insidious stars Rose Byrne (back as Renai Lambert) and Andrew Astor (Foster Lambert). New faces to the franchise include Hiam Abbass (Succession) and Sinclair Daniel.

Wilson directs from a screenplay by Scott Teems, whose credits include Halloween Kills and last year’s Firestarter. Franchise creator Leigh Whannell came up with the story.

Insidious: The Red Door will open in Australian cinemas on July 6th and U.S. cinemas on July 7th.
